I don't know anything about poetry. All I know is that I have loved writing since I was a young child and it's always served as a hobby for me. During adolescence, my anxiety got out of control and I struggled with depression for years. Writing didn't dig me out of that hole, but it helped me survive. Writing gave me an opportunity to control the thoughts bouncing around in my head by organizing them onto paper.

I've written hundreds of poems and I spent many years with a strange kind of shame associated with my writing them. This website has served as an avenue for self-expression and as a way to share one of my passions with those who wish to know.

Depending on how much I write, what I write about, and if I expand beyond poems, there may be pages added to this blog. Anything I write that mentions or alludes to SI will be marked with ** in the title.

I think of these poems as snapshots of intense emotion; sometimes profound, and sometimes deeply immature. I believe both are innate to the core of our human experience and I try not to shy away from that honesty in my poems.
